Publishing Your Research: How to Stay Organised and Sane

BookCover-sm.jpgBill recently wrote and published a book titled One Hundred Years in Canada: the Rubinoff-Naftolin Family Tree

Bill will discuss the many challenges he faced in writing and publishing this book. This will include techniques for managing all of the "vital statistics" for the Rubinoff-Naftolin families, ensuring the accuracy of the data, avoiding duplication, verifying sources, and at the same time protecting the privacy of the individuals.

At each step in the process Bill had to make decisions about what to publish, how to approach sensitive issues, how to present the data in a comprehensible manner, how to incorporate photographs, how to design genealogical charts, how to deal with references and at the same time remain on schedule.

Bill will also touch on the logistics of actually publishing and distributing a book, once it is written including how to design the book and cover.

Copies of Bill’s book will be available for purchase.
