The Nanaimo Family History Society is indexing the Canadian Passenger Lists for all ports from 1900 - 1924. This is a very large project and they anticipate this project taking several more years to complete.
The donation from the JGS (Toronto) allowed the Nanaimo FHS to purchase 19 microfilms covering the period 3 September 1913 to 21 November 1919. The microfilms are Library and Archives Canada microfilm numbers: T-4804 to T-4818 and T-14700 to T-14703. (The 60 films for 1900 to 1913 had already been purchased by the Nanaimo FHS when they started the project).
They are already transcribing the microfilms for the period 1900 to 1910, and when that block is finished they will start on 1911 to 1914. This last group includes 11 of the 19 films purchased with our donation.
The database of lists is updated regularly and will always be free to access.
