2011-08-21 Gesher Galicia is proud to announce that the IAJGS awarded our organization the Rabbi Malcom Stern Grant for 2011 at the recent IAJGS conference in Washington, D.C. The Malcolm Stern Grant honors Rabbi Malcolm H. Stern and his efforts to increase the availability of resources for Jewish genealogical research. The intention of the Grant is to encourage institutions to pursue projects, activities and acquisitions that provide new or enhanced resources to benefit Jewish genealogists. This $2,000 award will go towards our "Cadastral Map and Landowner Records Project," which began in 2007 and continues to inventory, acquire and index the information on land records and property maps, which have genealogical value for Jewish researchers. On behalf of the Gesher Galicia board of directors, and the Gesher Galicia membership, I would like to thank the IAJGS for this grant to help us further our research on behalf of all Jewish genealogists.
