The MHSO was established to preserve the records of immigrant lives and ethnic associations and has amassed a large collection of papers, oral and family histories, photos, and artifacts. A collection of about 300 books on Jewish subjects in English and Yiddish can be found. Also of great interest are the records of the Canadian immigration department on microfilm (1873-1968).
