Telephone: 416-327-1600 This is the official archive of the Province of Ontario, with a large collection of local histories, county and city directories, some voters' lists, newspapers (1793-1930), and various historical and genealogical publications. The three primary collections of genealogical interest at the Archives of Ontario are the Vital Statistics, Court Records, and Land Registrations. The Archives also hold Ontario Census microfilms from the National Archives of Canada (in addition to other federal microfilm of provincial interest). Index of Vital Statistics:

City Dir. Toronto: 1833 - 1983, Jewish – Canadian Labour Organizations:Documents on union and political organizations, such as United Jewish Peoples Order, Workman's Circle, International Ladies Garment Workers Union and others. Jewish Life:Documents on some congregations in Toronto, Hamilton, Brantford and Niagara Falls. There are also records on the Jewish immigration experience, business enterprises, Canadian Armed Forces during WWII, refugees, internees, societies and family papers. Jewish Canadian Photographs:Thousands of images reflecting Jewish Canadian Life, primarily in Toronto. Organizations such as Workmen's Circle, United Jewish People‘s Order, and many labour unions, particularly in the clothing industry are depicted. |
