2011-02-08

The Registrar General of Scotland announced that on April 5, 2011 the
General Register Office for Scotland will release details on over 4.7
million Scots.  The records will include the name, address, age, occupation,
birthplace and marital status of everyone included in the 1911 census--and
details about their children.  This is the last population census  taken
before World War I, therefore,   this will be the last time mentioned in a
Scotland census for those who perished in that War.

A census is taken every 10 years in Great Britain.and released after 100
years. The 2011 census will be taken on March 27. To read more click here

The 1911 census will be available on Scotlandspeople.gov and there is a
