A number of questions come to mind when considering putting a family tree online, such as:

1. Why would anyone go to the bother of creating a family tree online when they have perfectly good software sitting on their computer?

2. Why would anyone use an “offsite” location to store their family tree when it can go with them anywhere on a laptop?

3. Isn’t an online family tree open to everyone/anyone who cares to look? And what about "privacy”?
