Karen Lasky is an ardent writer of poetry, a contributor to and member of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Canada (Toronto), and a Holocaust Education Week volunteer.

Imagine growing up not knowing where you came form, and forbidden to ask.  Karen Lasky, a child of Holocaust survivors, explores the concept of growing up with details of her parents' personal histories.  With little historical knowledge, Karen retraces her parents' footsteps through the concentration camps they were were deported to and discovers their hidden pasts, family records and even their birth homes in Poland.  She credits these discoveries with shaping the path to understanding who she is.
