Born and raised in Toronto, Michael has done extensive research on early photographic technologies and formats as well as contemporary issues involving digital photography. He holds a combined B.A. in Art History and Canadian Studies from Carleton University and an M.A. in Photographic Preservation and Collections Management from Ryerson University. His recent research involves analyzing how people organize, store and share their digital photographs via online social networking websites.
